Mentors
Churches and other nonprofit organizations will provide mentors to volunteer in the Bootstrap America program. These mentors will come along side each business owner to help provide accountability, encouragement, resources and motivation. Volunteer mentors are individuals who have a background in business or experience in helping others.
The mentoring process will help ensure that borrowed funds are used for the stated purpose and that scheduled loan payments are made. Volunteer mentors will spend approximately two to three hours of time per month with individual business owners. Each business owner will have two mentors; a business mentor for the business aspects of the new enterprise and a community mentor to provide emotional support and encouragement.
